Did you know the Kingston DT200 usb flash drive comes in many different sizes? You can buy one with as little as 8GB or as big as 1 Terabyte. The real truth is, you get to choose the size. You can have it in 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and now at 1 TB. 1 Terabyte. That is a lot of storage for a usb flash drive. It is very inexpensive.
Don’t let people fool you into paying high prices for a DT200 Kingston DataTraveler! The FrankenFlash Projects InspectorTech and TechChips know how to make a tiny flash memory storage chip grow into amazing capacity. They are pretty good at “upgrading” flash memory. It’s a good thing they work for fraud prevention.
Did you know the real DT200 is only made in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB? Any other size is a fake. A reprogrammed usb flash drive. It’s a fake and you will lose your data. If you sell it, you will lose your reputation.
This week SOSFakeFlash started an awareness campaign along with FakeMemorySentinel. You can read about the need to educate buyers in:
Fraud is everywhere and Kingston Technologies is really suffering from counterfeiters who sell fake usb flash memory using their name. Some fakes come in packaging that so real, a lot of people don’t suspect. There is only one way to be sure:
aliexpress.com is a very dangerous place to buy flash memory products. These recent listings from lintao peng and Goodkidstores FYI should tell you why.
Watch out for any internet listings that advertise:
256GB usb flash drive 256GB usb Data traveler 256GB usb memory stick 128GB usb disk 256GB usb flash stick 128GB 256 GB 512GB 1TB

Aliexpress gives impression kingston makes 1TB flash drives, they just captured the information. 1TB not here yet, 512GB not available to consumers.
Ass you are not, wrath1001, valid. Post is about 1 year old, probably saved a lot of people from being frauded. Objective was and is probably to make sure people don’t fall for the scam. So far nobody has dared listing flash memory pen drives @ 1TB on ebay. Think fakeflashnews had something to do with that? Wondering………. ❓

This is a horrible way to write an article…you start by misleading people into thinking that Kingston does sell 1 tb drives and that they’re legitimate and then go on to say they’re fake only at the end of your article. Try telling people in your title the drives above 256gb are fakes instead of how great of a deal you can get on a fake drive. I don’t want to sound like an ass, but you’re being very misleading.

cowandgate,
You are correct. It is one of the reasons both SOSFakeFlash and FakeMemorySentinel are becoming more aggressive.
There is a change in strategy underway. Yes China is not taking it seriously. Why would they. The money involved is unbelievable. We are seeing some progress. The internet needs to be flooded with warnings and information on fake flash memory.
We do not like to see brand names dragged through the mud. However it is causing them to become more aggressive too.
The dirty secret is out in the open and we need more people to reinforce it. The best way is to write articles about the experience and document it and then link to one of the sites. Also to find chat rooms, forums to leave comments and of course reference our sites and articles.
The source of fake flash memory acquistion – Asian wholesaling sites needs to be exposed.
1TB flash memory sticks. LOL. It only shows how sellers prey on people who do not understand technology and who want to make an unrealistic profit. Anyone foolish enough to create listings like these can expect to find themselves published at on of the sites, documented to0.
The DT310 from Kingston is very hot. Sadly this usb flash drive is now the big ticket item for counterfeiters. Kingston has exposed itself by outsourcing and subcontracting to offer lower pricing. Unfortuantely they did not invest in security. As a result they are targets. The project has no choice but to continue exposing the fraud. Consumers come first.

The problem is these “traders” probably more aptly named “international criminals” sit in China and laugh at any European laws that prohibits the sale or transfer of fake goods. As long as the Chinese government views this as “just a bit of fun” nobody will get anywhere with it. Our government and its trade ministers continue to turn blind eyes toward this problem, as do our Euro MPs that are charged with supervising “Fair Trade”. Likewise the US trade authorities seem even less likely to get involved. This is a problem that needs tackling at those high levels because nothing will stop these Chinese people manufacturing these items except their own government.
