Transcend, Sony and Sandisk are patrolling eBay listings to spot counterfeits and fakes for their flash memory cards. They force eBay to remove the listings for fraudulent sellers immediately. Kingston Technologies also patrols for their usb flash drives, based on eBay member intel sent to them. So what are fake flash memory sellers doing to avoid detection?

They are splitting up the brand names, name. Inserting a space. Search engines will not find the name as they do not check for spaces.

SOSFakeFlash warns all eBay members to stay clear of any listing title that breaks up a brand name’s name. No honest eBay seller selling the genuine item would do this. Only those who engage in fraud will – to avoid being detected in searches. Most buyers assume it is a mistake in the listing item title. It is not.

Should you see the name for a brand being broken up with spaces or any other characters, you likely discovered a fake flash memory seller on eBay. Please contact the brand name immediately either by email at their websites or telephone to alert them. They will investigate. Many sellers have had their listings stopped as the brands will force eBay to remove obvious counterfeits and fakes. In doing so, they stop the flood of victims and try to protect their well earned reputation for quality products.

Be on the look out for brand name splitting in listing titles on eBay.
