Avoid the scam on eBay! Never bid or buy when a seller hides the buyer using a private auction for mp players, memory cards or usb flash drives. In the end, it is the eBay item number and the details on the item that are hidden! It is not the buyer in feedback that is hidden.
It is NOT for your protection! It is the sellers protection from YOU! Read the article eBay Private Auction Listings – eBay Fake Flash Sellers Prefer – Victims Learn The Meaning The Hard Way – A Guide to understand why!

Hi,
Private auction listings are deadly on eBay – they are frequently used to hide fraud. You should contact eBay and report the seller. False advertising is bad for buyers and also harms eBay’s reputation. eBay’s reputation continues to decline. It is sad, but they are not doing enough to protect buyers.

I learnt about this private listing too late! I just bidded a pack of FAKE MAC COSMETICS which seller repeatedly claimed that they are genuine and authentic throughout her listing! THEY ARE JUST HIGH REPLICA! BEWARE of magenta-shores (Kimberley Anne Shaw)

If you do find it necessary to buy from a private listed auction, i.e. no one else has what you need, then a good plan when issuing feedback both positive and negative is to put the item description in the feedback line, just enough description to define the item, like 16GB Flash (Kingston), THEN ADD the ITEM NUMBER, this is MOST important and allows cross-referencing for up to 90 days, There is NO reason to make non-personal items like flash memory PRIVATE, the seller may object which should alert you to a possible motive for using the private listing.
