Suspect looking 16GB flash drives listed by natg09 on ebay France

This item listed by natg09 (registered in France) looks highly suspect to us. The fact that this seller is using private auctions where buyer IDs are hidden and the fact that another suspect model (shown below) has been listed by this seller tends to confirm our thoughts that this seller may be a deliberate fraudster.

To date we have not come across any genuine 16GB flash drives of either type on ebay. All have been fake capacity drives – small drives, usually under 1GB, fraudulently programmed to display higher capacities to the operating system and thus fool users into thinking they have a 16GB drive. The one in the listing above is one of the longest standing models of flash drive that has had the frankenflash treatment.

This is probably because it looks so attractive. There is an old saying “Never judge a book by it’s cover” The same applies with flash drives. Some of the least attractive are genuine bargain drives whilst most of the desirable looking ones are fake!! If you bought one of these you should test immediately with h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.
