Counterfeit scandisk 8GB CF EXTREME III Memory Cards have been detected on eBay. The Fraud by eBay seller, bazaarus has been reported to scandisk. RickThePhotoGuy led an investigation after having been sold a fake. Proceeding with caution, he contacted other members who bought the same card to verify if the memory card was truly a fake. Close to 30 eBayers responded, confirming they had received a fake.

SOSFakeFlash has been investigating and fighting the issue of Fake Flash devices such as USB Pendrives, Memory Cards and MP Players since May 2008. Carefully documenting counterfeits, warning people to test their drives before storing important information to avoid data loss – volenteers struggle to cope with the load. Kingston now offers 32GB and 64GB Flash Drives – DataTraveler 150

Until recently the largest capacity usb flash drive offered by Kingston Technology was 16GB – now released are 32GB and 64GB models in the economical price range. The DataTraveler 150 is advertised as “Affordability meets high capacity”.

ebayers with Fake Flash drives bought on eBay from Hong Kong or China, SOSFakeFlash asks that you use a new procedure to resolve claim issues and get your refund at PayPal.

The Government of China does not condone or promote the traffic in counterfeit Flash drives. Citizens of this country who choose to engage in the illegal reprogramming of Flash drives or knowingly persist in selling them, need to be reported. The Chinese law enforcement agencies need your assistance and cooperation to help them identify the sources.
